Grilled Potato Cutlets

I had shared a recipe to make cutlets with left over poha upma . This one is a similar recipe with Poha mixture and the recipe needs to be tweaked just a little.

The base of these cutlets is potatoes and a poha mixture my mom makes this amazing mixture and she send lots of it! I mean really really lots, so i have to think of ways to use up this mixture!! Another reason for using the mixture up is after about a month or so the mixture starts to loose its crispness.

I used the mixture but you can make it with the flat poha and it will turn out yummy too!! For this recipe we will use the flat / thin poha. It blends easily with our potatoes and gives it a nice texture.

If you are using plain poha you can add crushed peanuts for the additional crunch. You can also add fried Bengal gram.

What do you need to make the Grilled poha cutlets?
  • Thin Poha / Poha Mixture
  • Boiled Potatoes
  • Chopped coriander
  • Chopped green chills
  • Chopped onions.
  • Salt
  • Pani poori masala

How to make Grilled Potato cutlets ?

Step 1: Is making the Green masala. Finely chop fresh coriander and green chilies together. We need the texture of the fresh coriander and green chilli bits in the cutlet for the spice punch.

Step 2: Mash the boiled potatoes and add chopped onions , the green masala we made, chopped green chilies, salt and mix all that really well.

Step 3:  Make patties of Desired shape. The patties need to be of medium consistancy and place them on a grill pan, add a little oil and shallow fry them.

Step 4: Serve them hot!! I sprinkled some spicy Garlic powder and they tasted super yumm!! You can easily serve these with tomato sauce and it will taste super good too!
