Super Simple Open sandwich

Open sandwich is one of the best ever snack invented, you can never go wrong with this one. The possibilities are infinite, you can make it with whatever toppings you want, you can make it with whatever vegetables are available at home,i like mine on it's own;you can just serve it with some tomato sauce and you are sorted.

I season my toppings with enough salt and herbs that it really does not need any extra dipping. The possibilities of making this awesome open sandwich are many and you do not even have to bother about the plating, it looks beautiful on it's own.

so today morning, i wanted to eat something other than the oats and milk and then thought of the open sandwich, it is quick to make and is super tasty! I looked at my fridge and saw just a few things, BUT, the open sandwich is the one thing you can make with anything you have at home.

What do you need to make an Open Sandwich?

  • Bread
  • Cheese
  • Tomatoes
  • Onions
  • Garlic
  • Olives
  • Herbs
  • Slat
  • Chill powder
  • Coriander powder
  • Unsalted butter

How to make the Open Sandwich?

Step 1: First step is to toast your bread, I like them just a little crisp, but with generous amounts of butter.

Step 2: Take little butter in a pan and once it melts add some chopped garlic, if you like it burnt, let it fry for a little while else, just once the raw smell goes away add onions, a pinch of salt and then fry for about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the chopped olives and fry for another minute.

Step 3: Add the chopped tomatoes and then the seasoning, add the mixed herbs, chill powder and mix all of it. Cook for 2 minuets and adjust salt levels if you like, remember that the cheese will also have some salt.

Step 4: Spread this mixture on the bread slices we just toasted and switch the pan back on, add the grated cheese and cook it just for half a minute. Done! your cheesy veg open sandwich is ready!
