Spicy Arbi fry - Taro Root fry

Arbi is a root vegetable and may be a few people will avoid it because there is a belief that it can cause itching, i never understood that bit because i never had that problem. I love this dish so much that , i tend to over eat the day we make it!

It comes out super crispy and spicy and goes well with hot steamed rice with a helping of some Ghee (clarified butter). The crispy bite size fries will just make your day!

This could be the shortest posts on my blog. Only one step that you need to follow when you cook Arbi and let me tell you it makes a huge huge difference. Arbi is a root vegetable and is hard , steaming it will help the fry a lot.

What do you need to make the Arbi fry
  • Arbi
  • Oil for deep fry

How to make the Spicy Arbi fry?

Step 1: Is to wash the Arbi really well and cook it. Best way to cook it is by pressure cooking it for a whistle in the cooker.

Step 2: Is to let the Arbi cool and peel and slice the big Arbi into round discs.

Step 3: Now deep fry the sliced Arbi till they turn golden brown colour and keep them aside.

Step 4: Move all the oil to a storing jar and in the same pan add all the Arbi into this pan, season with salt, chili powder and done!! serve it with some steamed rice, leave your guests licking their fingers!
