Oats and rice cutlets







Rice is an important part of an Indian household, Irrespective of where you live chances are you eat rice at regular intervals. There might be a time when you have some rice leftover! You can make an awesome Tomato Rice with it or can make some amazing Rice Crisps! The rice crisps has been the maximum tried recipe from Foodyee so far.

Oats is probably one of the most popular of the super foods these days. Loaded with benefits Oats have become everyday breakfast for most of us. Have to admit that the Oats and milk is a healthy breakfast yet can get a bit boring when you eat everyday. There is so much you could do with Oats, that can be healthy and tasty too! Do try the 3 minute Oats breakfast, they are quite good. ORrrrrrrr make these super yummy and healthy awesome cutlets.  


What do you need to make the Rice and Oats Cutlets:  


  • Oats
  • Leftover Rice
  • Onions
  • Coriander
  • Salt
  • Cumin Seeds
  • Carom Seeds 

How To make the Oats and Rice cutlets. : 

Step 1: Finely chop the onions and coriander keep aside.  





Step 2:  Whip the Oats and rice in a grinder. Just a quick whip. I used a packet of masala Oats that is why you see the colour bits. 





Step 3: Mash the rice and add the spices. Cumin , salt and carom seeds





Step 4: Mix the dry spices, rice and Oats well. Add the chopped onion and Coriander and mix well. 




Note: The consistency of the dough should be thick enough to be able to make easy patties.  


Step 5: Make patties of desired shape and keep aside for 10 minutes. Keeping them in the freezer will help making crisp patties. 





Step 6: Add a little oil and shallow fry the patties; Garnish with Mint leaves and serve them with some tangy tomato sauce or green chutney.
