Paneer Tikka In a Microwave.

Paneer is like a party dish. Of course you can make it for absolutely no reason; what i am saying is any party is incomplete with out a paneer dish. Vegetarian or not, it is a must have on the menu.

Did you know Paneer is good protein, potassium, magnesium, it contains antioxidant properties and AND and... wait the best and my favourite ............... helps in weight loss.  you read it right! it does help in weight loss. That is the reason paneer is allowed in most diets, as in if you are on a diet you can still have it.

The recipe we will see today is very popular, "The Paneer Tikka!" it is so easy to make. All you have to do is be patient. 3 time consuming parts , but these parts do not require you to be around. Start the process and forget it. You will love the outcome, why i love this dish is because you can play with the spicing and flavouring as per your taste. :)

Paneer Tikka is actually a dry Tanduri snack you can serve it as a starter or as an accompaniment, this is a step by step recipe of how to make it in a Microwave. We will need a convection Microwave which has the skewer.

Skewer basically is this metal rod on which the marinated vegetables and paneer are skewed and grilled. They are then served with some Mint chutney. :D

What do we need to make Paneer Tikka?

  • Paneer
  • Hung Curd.
  • Red Capsicum
  • Green Capsicum
  • Yellow Capsicum
  • Onion
  • Jeera powder
  • Dhaniya Powder
  • Garam Masala
  • Salt
  • Chilli powder
  • Chat Masala
  • Corn Starch.
  • Ginger & Garlic paste
  • Lemon juice.

How to make Paneer Tikka?

Step 1: Is to prepare the hung curd.  Take some fresh curd and put it in a  sieve and place this over a bowl and leave this in a fridge for about 1 hour. the excess water from the curd will collect in that bowl.

Step 2: Is to cut the vegetables into cubes. the cubes have to be big enough the your skewer can go threw. also it has to be wide enough that it will not fall off. ;)

Step 3:  Let us prepare the marinate mixture, take a wide bowl and add the hung curd to it; now we'll add our spicing, you can add them in any order, Jeera / cumin powder, Dhaniya , Coriander / Dhaniya powder, Pinch of garam masala, Chat masala, salt, chilli powder add some cornstarch , lemon juice, ginger & garlic paste. mix all this well. Add the paneer and vegetables to it and mix this well and leave it for 3 to 4 hours.

Note: I have added the spices to my liking, you can do so too. :) i added more Dhaniya powder because i love the flavour of dhaniya. 2 things that are important when we make the batter.
- Add enough hung curd that these spices mix well and you have enough of this yummy masala to coat the paneer and vegetables.
- Add enough salt, remember that chat masala also has a bit of salty flavour. We will not add salt later so make sure you add enough salt.

Step 4: After about  4 ours , take out your skewing equipment. Grease it nicely with oil and start skewing the vegetables. Brush them with some oil and put this in the microwave in the convention mode and bake  for 25 minutes.

Step 5: Take them into a serving plate and serve them hot right out of the oven with some mint chutney.
