Pizza with leftover Uttappam

Uttapam belongs to the Dosa family and is much thicker and healthier (requires lesser oil to make), personally i am a bigger fan of the crisp dosa and not the Uttapam. (now you now why i have leftover utaapam!!). So what do we do with leftover Uttapams / Uttapam batter?? We make some yummy pizza!

P.S: I am sorry that i do not have pictures for this recipe, i did not click any as i was not sure how this experiment will turn out. Its a visual delight and a good alternate to the actual pizza! I am sure your kids will love this and you do not have to worry too much about the health Quotient.

What do you need to make Uttapam pizza??

  • Leftover Uttapam batter
  • Capsicum Julienne
  • Tomato Julienne
  • Onion Julienne
  • Sliced baby corn.
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Herbs for seasoning
  • Salt
  • Pepper

How to make Uttapam Pizza?

Step 1 is to make the base. Add some salt and pepper to your batter and spread it on a flat dosa pan and make thick Pizza like base and keep aside

Step 2 is to spread the tomato sauce all over the base, you can also spread some grated cheese.

Step 3 decorate it with your veggies. I love the raw and crunchy feel of my veggies on the pizza. You can shallow fry the veggies and spread them on the base, that way they will stay crunchy and get cooked as well.

Step 4 Slice the Pizza and heat it for a couple of minutes in a microwave. Serve hot!!
