Dahi wali Aloo ki Sabzee with leftover kadi (Majjiga Pulusu)



Kadi / Majjiga Pulusu (Gravy curry with buttermilk) is a great side dish and tastes awesome with rice. It can turn into an awesome Dahi wali Aloo Sabzi. No one will be able to guess that you made this out of a leftover!! :)

This recipe is a bit time consuming as it needs us to make fresh masala, but trust me! It's is all wort it in the end! 

What do you need to make Dahi Wali Aloo sabzi?


  • Leftover Kadi (Majjiga Pulusu)
  • Cinnamon
  • Green chilly
  • Fresh Coconut
  • Poppy seeds 
  • Garlic cloves 
  • Onions
  • Cumin Seeds  (Jeera)
  • Salt
  • Oil

How to make Dahi Wali Aloo Sabzi?

Step 1: Is to remove any vegetables / bajjis / fitters added to the Kadi. We need plain kadi to make the Aloo sabzi. 






Step 2: Lets grind some fresh spices for our gravy. In a blender/ grinder add Coconut, Green Chilly, Salt, Garlic, Cinnamon and poppy seeds. Grind it into a nice smooth paste.




Step 3: Take a little oil in a pan, add cumin seeds; fry till they crackle and onions and fry till they are golden brown. add the fresh masala we made and stir for 3-4 min. Add the boiled and cubed potatoes and cook for some time. Add a little water to ensure the curry does not burn.







Step 4: Is to add the plain leftover kadi/ majjia pulusu, mix it well and cook for 8-10 min, That's it our "Dahi wali aloo ki sabzi" is all ready!
