What do you need to make Aloo Bonda?

  • Leftover potato curry
  • Chickpea flour
  • Rice flour
  • Ajwain
  • Salt
  • Chilly powder
  • Water

How to make Aloo Bonda?

Aloo bonda is a deep fried dumpling with potato filling inside! Step 1 is to mash the potato curry and make small balls of the same and keep aside. If your Potato curry is the non dry one, you can add some Semolina (rava) to make it thick.

Step 2 lets make the batter! in a wide mouthed bowl take the chickpea flour and rice flour (3:1 ratio) add salt, chilly powder, Ajwain 1 spoon of hot oil and mix well. Add water little by little and mix well.

Step 3 is to heat the oil and dip our potato balls in the batter (make sure the ball is covered properly with the batter. Drop them gently into hot oil and fry until golden brown.
