In one of my previous posts i showed you  How to make yummy patties with leftover Semiya Upma. In this post i will show you how to make pakodas or fitters with left over Semiya upma.

By now you might have figured that i am a fan of fried food! who is not?? this makes for an awesome tea time snack. No more talking, lets make some yummmy deep fried fitters / pakodas.

What you need?
  • Leftover Semiya upma / Vermicelli
  • Oil for deep fry
  • Finely chopped Onions
  • FInely chopped corriander
  • Finely chopped green chilles
  • Grated cheese (optional)
  • Gram flour for binding
  • Rice flour for binding
  • Salt
  • Chilly powder
  • Water for binding.

How to make Crispy pakodas / Fitters

Take a wide mouthed bowl add all the ingredients and mix well. Your Semiya upma should be mashed and the consistency should be thick (refer to the image below). We need to add very little water, to help us mix the gram flour and rice flour nicely in the batter.

All you have to do is make small dumplings and deep fry them. Fry till they are nice and brown. serve with green chutney / tomato sauce or just sprinkle some chat masala and gobble them! If you happen to make these pakodas please post a picture.
